Astatic by Hohner JT30 Roadhouse Harmonica MicrophoneReviewsGood, but in my opinion it doesn't compare to the Shure Green Bullet. I do like the detachable mic cable and the volume switch. The microphone has a definite "cool Factor". I might replace it, if lost, or stolen. I play blues harmonica, and have an old 1960 astatic jt30 that I usually play; it's very hot and very dirty. I have two amps I play through... a Sonny Jr. 2 and a Harp Gear 2. My old mic works great with the Sonny, but is too dirty for vocals, and too dirty for the high gain input on the Harp Gear 2. So I thought I'd try out a different mic, and since I like the JT30 shape, I gave the Roadhouse a try. It works really well. It is not a dirty mic; it is clean and clear, fairly hot, and medium bright (it uses a crystal element). I plug it into my Harp Gear 2, in the high gain input, and it works great. I get a little bit of dirt from the amp, and I can use it with harmonica or vocals. I don't have a problem with feedback, and if I do, I can always use my Kinder Antifeedback Plus. If you have a dirty amp, and want a mic that will work with harmonica and vocals, the Roadhouse is a pretty good place to start. Average Rating:![]() |

Hohner 1490 Blues Blaster Harmonica MicrophoneReviewsi loved this mic... it worked great with my harmonica but then it quit working... is it supposed to be disposable? I use this mic with my harmonicas. It works great: molds my hand and does not slip. Clear sound. Buy it! Average Rating:![]() |

Beginner HarmonicaReviewsI got this harmonica for my daughter's first birthday. When it came I realized I couldn't really teach my daughter to play it. I tried to blow on her face as I was playing it. I tried to put it in front of her when she was sighing or blowing air. We kept on trying, but she just didn't get it. And one day (couple of weeks later), she just got it! I was probably more excited than she was. First she played it so so gentle you could hardly hear it. But now she LOVES it! She figured out to exhale and inhale and also knows different hole plays different notes all on her own. She is only 14 months and she doesn't play songs with it or anything yet, but she loves music in general and is thrilled and proud to be able to play an instrument. I love the cute design and that it is made of plastc so it's not dangerous for little ones. The vendor even called me to ask if the color was OK before shipping it since it's a "color may vary" product and we got a pink one we love. Big thumbs up! Average Rating:![]() |

Teach Yourself to Play Harmonica (Book & Hohner Harmonica)ReviewsNOTE: I checked this work out from the library, so I cannot speak to the quality of the included harmonica. What I enjoyed most about this work was that it introducted the reader to familiar songs very quickly. Also, even after introducing traditional musical notation, the book continues to include the numbered notation, which was very helpful. Overall, however, I doubt this is a stand-alone book. I used it as a very helpful supplement to 'The Complete Idiot's Guide To Playing The Harmonica.' By itself, the introduction to playing and caring for a harmonica are very weak where CIG is stronger. I do not recommend this book as a stand alone, but if you're looking to play many simple songs while learning the basics, this book is perfect. This book is by far not SIMPLE I ordered another book also and it's MUCH simpler for a beginner. The harmonica also is plastic which doesn't give a sound as well as the wood harmonica's After I teach myslef with the other book I'll move to this book. This beginners harmonica and book are a great way to start out or to give as a gag gift. I gave it to my husband as a joke for Christmas, and this is the gift he liked the most! He has been practicing the songs that came along with the harmonica. The only downside is that the book has a lot of songs that we have never heard of since they are old blues songs. So, we dont' know if he is playing them correctly or not. The kids were jealous and have all asked for one for their birthdays. Good way to get someone started playing harp. Comes with a good quality instrument. Book is easy to follow. Average Rating:![]() |

I'm so glad I finally purchased this particular instrument. I've always wanted it. I knew that gold and chrome models existed, but were way too expensive.
This instrument will be my twentieth harmonica in my arsenal. If you have the money, I highly recommend ordering one soon, before this model is gone for good.
